Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: China takes players to the year 1526, during the decline of the Ming Dynasty. The story centers on Shao Jun, the last remaining Assassin of the Chinese Brotherhood. After training in Italy under the legendary Ezio Auditore (as seen in the animated short Assassin's Creed: Embers ), Shao Jun returns to her homeland. Her mission is two-fold: exact vengeance on the "Eight Tigers" (a ruthless faction of Templars who eradicated her Brotherhood) and rebuild her fallen order.

Shao Jun is a fantastic character with a rich history. She was born into concubinage in the imperial court but was saved by the Assassins. After the Templars destroyed her faction, she fled to Europe. There, she trained under the legendary master (the star of Assassin's Creed II ).
