One of the most distinctive—and debated—elements of "Too Far" is its narrative structure. Unlike the first book, which featured a mix of perspectives, "Too Far" is told entirely from the viewpoints of the women and other characters surrounding Kane Black. Readers do not hear anything directly from Kane's point of view. The story unfolds through the eyes of his mother Aliyah, his majordomo Witte, his sister-in-law Amy, and his wife, Lily. This multi-POV approach is designed to make the reader question what is truth and what is self-serving story, effectively building a "slow burn sense of dread". While some readers found the constant shifts "exhausting," others appreciated the deep dive into each character's psyche and motivations.
