"Libertadores" (Liberators) was commissioned by the Asociación de Amigos de la Música de Altea (Spain) for the 39th International Music Contest of Altea in 2010. The piece is dedicated to the independence leaders of Latin America (such as Simón Bolívar and José de San Martín) and pays homage to the shared cultural and historical ties between Spain and the Americas.
