The film follows the titular character, Alex Pandian (played by Karthi), a rugged, carefree mercenary who gets entangled in a high-stakes conspiracy. He is hired to kidnap Divya (Anushka Shetty), the daughter of a prominent minister. However, as the narrative unfolds, Alex turns from her captor into her protector. The plot shifts into a classic cat-and-mouse chase as Alex shields Divya from a corrupt businessman (Milind Soman) and a rogue politician (Suman) who want to distribute counterfeit medicines.
